Greater Baltimore Ostomy Association

The Greater Baltimore Ostomy Association (GBOA) is your local chapter of the United Ostomy Associations of America, Inc. (UOAA). The UOAA is a volunteer-based 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization that promotes quality of life for people who have or will have, ostomies and continent diversions through information, empowerment, support, advocacy and collaboration. We share the vision of the UOAA:

A society where people with ostomies and intestinal or urinary diversions are universally accepted and supported socially, economically, medically, and psychologically.

The GBOA meets five times per year at University of Maryland St. Joseph Medical Center, in the Canticle Room. Certified ostomy nurses from the Baltimore Affiliate of the WOCN Nurses Society support the GBOA by attending these meetings and providing information and resources for adjusting to life with an ostomy.
